Discovering Anchorage, Alaska
After spending almost 14 hours flying from Dallas to Anchorage with 2 stops; Houston and Seattle. Finally today I have had a little bit of time to explore some places of the last State.
I have been asking some people about markets and I have finally found one pretty close to my hostel.
As soon I walked inside the New Sagaya´s Midtown Market I have realized the differences between living in Texas and in an open State like Alaska.
Lets go by parts; the first thing that I wanted to see was the fish area. Perhaps because for almost 2 years I have been missing a lot getting in a market and see the fish and sea food like they are. I am not saying that in Dallas is not possible………. it is but I am sure that I will need to visit 3 different stores and during a couple of days for being able to experienced what I have done here in less than an hour.
Let´s talk about fish; Black Alaskan cod; Hawaiian Tuna ; Alaskan Halibut; East Coast fresh butter fish : huge fresh rock fish: king salmon: New Zealand Blue Marlin…………….. the possibilities were a lot.
Another world fall on my feet when I turned around and saw the closer department………… welcome to the shellfish and seafood world!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. Scallops; crabs; squid; lobsters; clams, some of them were like my hand; mussels; oysters; shrimp; octopus; crawfish; stone crab. I will probably be talking about different products all day. God save THE SEA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
